Eco City Plus - International Projects

Welcome to the official internet site for Eco City Plus Initiative

The NRW-Shanxi Eco City Plus Initiative was officially launched in September 2010 to provide a platform for NRW-China cooperation in the development and delivery of world-class solutions for eco-cities, low carbon urban development and capacity building. It is coordinated by the EnergieAgentur.NRW. A Memorandum Of Understanding   was signed in September 2010 between the EnergieAgentur.NRW, and the government of Shanxi province outlining the joint agreement and programme of events foreseen under the Eco City Plus Initiative. An official kick-off event will take place in October 2011 in the form of a high level forum and information event for Eco City Plus activities.

The Eco City Plus Initiative is actively supported by commerce, industry, academia and government, with the extensive involvement of the EnergieAgentur.NRW. In China, the group is supported at the national level by the Development and Reform Commission of Shanxi Province and the Shanxi Construction and Design Institute.

A consortium of leading architects, designers, engineering companies, technology providers, professional organisations and universities from North Rhine Westfalia are working together in the design and actualisation of authentic Eco City Projects world-wide.

Successful international projects have already been realised.

Our teams work together with local experts  in a broad inter-disciplinary, inter-sectoral approach with the client to develop a total concept that fits in wtih the local culture and needs. All local resources and know-how are integrated into the project supported by tailor-made training ocurses and capacity building collaboration so that the final design is one based truly on a partnership and cooperation.
